This is such a good book! I received it as a gift, and it was a gift indeed. Funny, poignant, and especially impactful during quarantine when we’re all thinking of the life we want on the other side.

A fun ride with thrills and a journey to your soul

Whether or not you relate to Paul Quinlan’s (main character) lifestyle, we can all relate to examining our life’s purpose and what truly gives us happiness & fulfillment. A Hard Place starts fast keeping the reader buckled in until the exhilarating end. Mr. Koenig does a wonderfully impressive job of mixing in self deprecation, witty humor, humility, and humanity. A fun, introspective and easy read I highly recommend for adults of all ages. For added measure, you’ll likely be adding new words to your vocabulary.

If you are needing an immediately engaging, hilarious-yet-moving book, this is for you. From the first sentence, the author takes you on an unpredictable adventure and along the way, you will meet unforgettable characters, who make you laugh out loud, but also touch your heart. Paul, the main character, is on a frantic, coming-of-consciousness mission to find his authentic self. And though highly entertaining, it had me questioning my own choices and identity. This great new work receives my highest recommendation.

I loved this book! It had a little bit of everything, and awesome characters. The storyline moved along flawlessly and kept me totally involved. If these characters were to appear again for another book, I would be along for the ride.
